Approximately 6,000 satellites orbit our earth, with only about 40% operational. The rest continue to orbit as junk pieces of metal, unable to be retrieved. Satellites provide a better view of the earth than from the ground as well as see into space better than earth bound telescopes. This location is collect data, anticipate disasters, telecommunication and imaging.
